5.0 out of 5 stars Comfort Zone / Howard Berger Company really cares about their customers! Amazing! WOW!, January 7, 2012

I did not buy this heater from Amazon, I bought it at Big Lots last winter and it worked fabulous...last winter. This winter when it finally got cold, I pulled it out and plugged it in. Everything acted right (lights, sensors, beeps) but no heat. Tried to find a fix it yourself manual for it somewhere online but none were posted, so I called the parent company (609) 860-9990 , Howard Berger Company in NJ, during business hours on a Thursday afternoon to see if I could ship it back for repair or where to take it locally, or to order a repair manual.

I got a woman in a real American Customer Service Department named Dori and she was incredible! I told her what it was doing and she immediately started taking my address. I was confused; after all, this is the US in 2012, not 1972, so I asked her why she needed my address. She said, "Well, we'll be sending you a new heater. It probably won't be this same model because we've discontinued it, but you need a heater."... Read more

i had a heater like this one a few years back from another online vendor...it shorted out somewhat but it may have been handled roughly a few times...dropped and fell down some stairs.

this heater has a small footprint and oscillates, though it sounds sort of rickety.

there are several tempratures to set the heater to. 60 thru 85 degrees and an easy to use timer offering 1, 2 and 3 hour runtimes....thought the timer doesnt have to be used to have the heater operate. the heater has a high and low speed switch as well.

ie, press the power button (the LOW side of it) and turn the heater on. then, press the oscillation button (on top as well) to have the fan oscillate.

then pick a temp to set the heater to and then press the 1-hour timer button. simple.

For what ever reason, it seems that manufactures of space heaters never learned about one word....."style." This model has style. If you're going put a lump on the floor, it might as well have some style.

This unit? I found it to be a bit rumble-ee but bearable. And when the unit is on high, yes, the cable gets a bit warm. Since the high setting is pushing a lot of watts, a cord getting a "bit" warm, is normal and not a sign of danger. If the cord becomes overly "hot" then yes, be concerned. Being an overkill type of personality, I'm having an electrician over to install an additional wall box which will have a 20A, hospital grade, duplex, receptacle installed in it. That's as good as it gets in regard to electricity supply.

We have it placed unobtrusively on the bathroom floor to help warm the room up in the morning. This bathroom is at the end of a long heater duct run and needs a bit of heating assistance. Running this floor heater for about ten... Read more
