They tell you it has a nice long cord but it goes down the tube when you assemble it and there is about 3 feet left over. The area it heats is extremely small and if you want to use this on the patio at night forget about seeing anything outside. I swim in cape cod in summers, and don't feel cold normally, so it is not me. Also, be careful when ordering, not all models telescope, this one wasn't telescoping.
